Band 6 Dental Nurse Manager

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Band 6 Dental Nurse Manager for a 16‑month fixed‑term/secondment position based at Birmingham Dental Hospital with support a split portfolio.

• x2 days (Monday & Second day TBC) – Unscheduled Dental Care, Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, Special Care
• x2 days (Thursday/Friday) – Paediatrics, Orthodontics, Dental Outreach Centre

• Provide flexible, high‑quality care as part of a dental team across localities within the integrated Dental Service (BDH, CDS, mobile clinics and external sites as required).
• Act as conduit for service‑wide communication for certain specialities or a locality and attend meetings on behalf of the Dental Matron.
• Order equipment and stock, ensuring efficient control of levels and maintaining the commitment accounting system.
• Support the Clinical Leads, Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies, Heads of Service and Dental Matron in financial management of the service.
• Participate in the management and improvement of the integrated Dental Service, including development of policies and protocols.
• Manage Dental Nurses and support staff at all grades – conduct staff appraisals, identify training needs, and coordinate post‑qualification training.
• Demonstrate good leadership skills, manage change in clinical practice and processes, and provide independent clinical and leadership judgment while supervising junior colleagues’ workload.
