Senior Estimator - Opportunity to Build & Lead an Estimating Department

We’re working with a long-established and well-respected construction business that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to set up and lead a formal Estimating Department.

Until now, estimating has been managed at director level. The business is now ready to invest in a dedicated department — and they’re looking for someone who can take ownership of it, shape it properly, and make it their own. This is a genuine opportunity to step into a leadership role with a clear route into senior management.

This is a hands‑on position as well as a strategic one. You’ll be responsible for producing high‑quality tenders, while also putting the structure, systems and processes in place to build a strong and sustainable estimating function.

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents, identifying risks and opportunities
• Develop and improve estimating systems and processes
• Work closely with Directors and Business Development to strengthen tender performance
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Contribute ideas to improve win rates, efficiency and profitability

You’ll already have solid experience in construction estimating and be confident managing tenders from start to finish. Experience with in refurbishment, public sector or mixed‑use projects would be beneficial.
