Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Project Manager (Permanent)
Pinnacle Recruitment urgently seek a Project Manager for our client who is a Tier 1 Main Contractor.

The projects are based in Birmingham and are for the construction of Head Houses for the HS2 line. Head Houses are large reinforced concrete buildings that house the M&E controls and ventilation for the HS2 Tunnels. Our client is looking for people with a Construction background that have managed the build of RC Construction Buildings that are heavy on M&E.

The head houses have a build value of around £35m and can be constructed within roughly 12 months. There is at least 3 years of work on these builds alone with many more projects coming through the pipeline.

Role Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of head house construction projects—typically multi-level access structures serving transportation hubs, underground stations, or utility facilities. The role requires strong leadership, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead planning, coordination, and execution of head house construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.

* Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

* Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives.

* Oversee procurement and contract administration.

* Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

* Monitor site activities to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.

* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

* Prepare progress reports and present updates to senior management and stakeholders.

* Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication across all parties.

* Ensure all health and safety protocols are strictly enforced on site.

Key Competencies

* Strategic planning and execution

* Budget and cost management

* Risk management

* Stakeholder engagement

* Contract administration

* Quality assurance

* Problem-solving under pressure

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing £25m+ schemes that are heavy on RC and M&E and have worked for a Tier 1 Main Contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to get with a company that promotes from within, has an excellent continuity of work and pays an excellent salary.
