Job Overview

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor in Birmingham, you'll take senior leadership responsibility across both preconstruction and post-contract stages on complex construction projects. This associate quantity surveying job offers strategic involvement in MIX cost planning, procurement strategy, contract negotiation, commercial risk management, final account settlements and business development. You'll lead on varied schemes across Birmingham, the West Midlands and nationally, managing key client relationships and mentoring quantity surveyors.

Working with JCT, NEC and other standard forms of contract, you'll provide commercial leadership on high-profile projects whilst shaping the strategic direction of the Birmingham practice. The role is based in the Birmingham office, offering excellent exposure to diverse sectors and influence over business strategy. This is an outstanding opportunity for degree-qualified associate quantity surveyors with consultancy experience looking to progress towards director or partner roles within a forward‑thinking, ambitious practice.

• Lead quantity surveying services across preconstruction and post-contract stages on high-value projects throughout the West Midlands
• Prepare comprehensive cost plans and strategic commercial advice
• Develop and manage procurement strategies and tender documentation
• Provide commercial leadership, risk management and strategic advisory
• Oversee contract administration and dispute resolution
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with complex supply chains
• Maintain strategic stakeholder relationships at board level
• Manage senior, assistant and trainee quantity surveyors
• Take responsibility for professional development of junior staff
