About the Role:

ESD Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected demolition contractor based in Birmingham. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and tendered work, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Demolition Estimator to strengthen their commercial and pre-construction team.

This is a senior role offering autonomy, long-term progression, and the opportunity to play a key part in winning and delivering complex demolition projects across the Midlands and wider UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for demolition, enabling works, soft strip, and remediation projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, surveys (including asbestos and structural reports), and tender documentation
• Carrying out site visits to assess scope, access, logistics, and methodology requirements
• Producing detailed cost breakdowns including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, disposal, and preliminaries
• Developing demolition methodologies and programmes in collaboration with operational teams
• Liaising with clients, main contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners during the tender process
• Managing tender submissions from initial enquiry through to final handover
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
• Supporting contract handovers to operations and attending pre-start meetings where required

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Demolition Estimator (essential)
• Strong technical knowledge of demolition methods, temporary works, and site logistics
• Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to large, complex demolition schemes
• Confident interpreting construction drawings and technical documentation
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider commercial team
• Full UK driving licence
