Description

Team Overview: The Commercial department is central to ensuring the financial viability and contractual success of our projects. Responsible for cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration, the team works closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients to monitor budgets, mitigate risk, and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations — safeguarding both client satisfaction and company profitability.

Role Overview: We are hiring for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to specialise within the Decarbonisation sector. On our projects within the Decarbonisation Sector, we assume the role of the Main Contractor, meaning we have control of all elements of the build:
Civils, Construction, Building Fabric, Solar, M&E, etc.

What You'll be Doing

The role is responsible for ensuring the successful financial delivery of projects through effective cost control, monthly valuations, and management of variations and change orders. It involves close collaboration with contracts, estimating, and pre‑construction teams to understand project scopes, review package allowances, and oversee subcontractor tendering, engagement, negotiations, and contract documentation. The position includes reviewing contracts and supplier terms, tracking job performance, preparing timely valuations and payment applications, processing subcontractor payments, and attending commercial meetings to report on negotiations and project performance.

Additionally, the role supports project managers with commercial activities and requires site visits across the UK and Ireland as needed.
