Overview
We are looking for Social Work Assistants to join the Children in Care Teams to support Social Workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people in the City through the delivery of high quality service. You will have a variety of work in this role such as supporting young people to keep in touch with their families, working closely with children and young people to undertake direct work and build trusting relationships, and working closely with other agencies working with families you are supporting.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. We do not sponsor work visas.
Responsibilities- Support Social Workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in the City.
- Help young people keep in touch with their families and undertake direct work with children and young people to build trusting relationships.
- Collaborate with other agencies involved with families you are supporting.
- Experience of working with children and/or their families
- Experience working collaboratively with other agencies
- Passionate about working with children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
- A driver with knowledge of the Birmingham area
- Ability to work professionally with people experiencing challenging personal circumstances
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences through written, verbal and other means
- We pay your Social Work England registration fee
- We pay your DBS application fee and reimburse your update service fee
