Neway International are seeking a Senior Social Worker (SSW) with 2 years’ post‑qualifying experience to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Hours:

The Role As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people.

You will manage a defined caseload, undertake high‑quality assessments, and deliver effective interventions that support positive outcomes.

This is a vital position within Area Services, providing stability and expertise during a period of long‑term staff absence.

Key Responsibilities Hold responsibility for an allocated caseload, ensuring timely and effective case progression.

Complete high‑quality assessments in line with statutory requirements, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Provide direct support, guidance and interventions to children and families.

Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver coordinated, child‑focused services.

Maintain accurate, evidence‑based case records and reports in line with organisational and legislative standards.

Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.

Participate in team meetings, reflective practice and service development activities.

Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, policy and best practice.

Candidate Requirements Qualified Social Worker with 2 years’ post‑qualifying experience.

SWE registration.

Strong assessment, analysis and report‑writing skills.

Experience working within statutory children’s services.

Ability to work autonomously within established guidelines.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work collaboratively within a high‑support, high‑challenge environment.
