Job Summary
Our Hyper‑Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) provides excellent standards of care for patients with a workforce that is passionate, dynamic and inclusive. As a Ward Clerk, you will support the Ward Manager with a range of administrative tasks to ensure that the unit runs efficiently. No two days will be the same and you will need to be proactive and flexible to work as part of our busy, friendly team of nursing, medical and allied health professionals.

Main Duties- Updating and reviewing files
- Making referrals and appointments
- Reporting issues to appropriate corporate teams (e.g., maintenance, IT)
- Answering phone calls and handling general queries
- Updating computer systems
- Arranging patient transportation
- Ordering stationery and materials as required
- Performing general office tasks such as printing, filing, laminating
- Welcoming visitors to the unit and helping to answer general questions

Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Training- Educated to GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in administration
- Experience of working in a receptionist/admin/clerk role
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Computer literate
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Working knowledge of NHS computer systems
- Understanding of the Data Protection Act and importance of confidentiality
- Knowledge of care pathways
- A team player
- Ability to communicate clearly – written and verbally
- Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Respect, model and uphold Trust values
