Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Staff Accountant with hospitality industry experience to join our corporate accounting team. This is an office-based role supporting a multi-entity portfolio of fine dining and high-volume entertainment concepts. The ideal candidate understands the operational rhythm of restaurants and entertainment venues — including daily sales reporting, inventory controls, cost of goods, labor analysis, and multi-location accounting complexities.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, GAAP compliance, and timely reporting across the organization. This role reports to senior accounting leadership and works closely with operations, culinary, and venue management teams.
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable for hospitality and related entities.
- Process and reconcile daily sales and cash activity across multiple high-volume venues.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Assist with month-, quarterly-, and year-end close processes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements across multi-entity structures.
- Review and reconcile POS reporting and revenue streams (food, beverage, events, merchandise, etc.).
- Reconcile and analyze inventory counts; partner with operations to identify variances and trends.
- Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and labor reporting.
- Maintain records of sales tax, liquor tax, and other hospitality-related compliance requirements.
- Support venue-level P&L reporting and financial analysis.
- Assist in developing and refining accounting SOPs and internal controls.
- Respond to operational leadership inquiries and ad-hoc financial reporting requests.
- Support audit preparation and documentation.
- Help drive consistency across venues in reporting standards and financial discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, with hospitality or restaurant accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Restaurant
365, Quick Books Enterprise, or similar).
