Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

SA Recycling is growing and we have an opening for an experienced and mechanic. Our Mechanics will preform all aspects of preventative maintenance on company owned tractors and trailers to include, but not limited to: fluid and filter changes, tires, brakes, trailer repair, DOT inspections, and general shop paperwork and clean up.

This position will work in a shop setting with some outside work in varying weather conditions. SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, Environmental, and DOT standards.

Responsibilities of a Mechanic

* Perform routine service and maintenance tasks (oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake, etc.) on all tractors per the manufacturer, company, and DOT schedules and guidelines.

* Complete routine maintenance tasks and adjustments on trailing equipment, in compliance with manufacturer, company, and DOT schedules and guidelines.

* Patch holes in trailers and/or containers side panels, floors, or roofs as needed.

* Maintain accurate records of all work performed.

* Performs annual DOT inspections and sign-offs.

* Communicates and works well with others in a safe and professional manner.

* Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly working area.

* Performs all tasks fully within SA Recycling's Safety and Environmental practices and procedures.

Qualifications of a Mechanic:

* High school diploma or equivalent work-related or military experience.

* Prior DOT mechanics or technicians experience highly desired.

* Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC).

* Must be willing to complete, and successfully pass a drug screen, physical and background check.

* Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
