A Diesel Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, buses, and heavy machinery. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing parts, and ensuring optimal performance and safety.

• Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues and run diagnostic tests to pinpoint problems within diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, and other components.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and other mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair issues across various systems, including hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering, and electrical systems.
• Maintain detailed records of all services, repairs, and parts inventory, ensuring accurate documentation for each vehicle.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
• Consult with customers to understand issues and explain repairs when applicable.
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.

• Proficiency in inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
• Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
• Experience in routine maintenance and part replacement for diesel engines and related components.

• Experience with hydraulic systems, braking systems, and electrical systems.
• Capability in maintaining detailed service and repair records.
• Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.

This is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, AL.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
