Job OverviewUnited Trades of America is hiring experienced Underground Coal Mining Electricians in Jasper, AL. Candidates must handle physically demanding tasks and work in challenging environments. An underground coal mine electrician performs electrical work and maintenance in a coal mine. Underground coal mine electricians may face a variety of risks, including: exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, exposure to toxic chemicals, and exposure to explosives.
Key Responsibilities- Maintaining equipment logbooks
- Maintaining shift report logs
- Providing electrical assistance to other departments
- Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards
- Working with mining operations during maintenance
- Completing preventative maintenance and operational work orders
- Performing electrical inspections
- Examining electrical equipment
- Recording results of electrical examinations
- 2+ years of underground electrician experience
- MSHA
- High voltage experience preferred, low voltage required
