United Trades of America is seeking skilled Underground Coal Mining Electricians in Jasper, Alabama. Candidates must be able to work in challenging environments and perform various physical tasks while ensuring the safe operation of electrical systems. An underground coal mine electrician performs electrical work and maintenance in a coal mine, including:

• Maintaining equipment logbooks
• Maintaining shift report logs
• Providing electrical assistance to other departments
• Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards
• Working with mining operations during maintenance
• Completing preventative maintenance and operational work orders
• Performing electrical inspections
• Examining electrical equipment
• Recording results of electrical examinations

Underground coal mine electricians may face a variety of risks, including:

• Exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity
• Moving mechanical parts
• Risk of electrical shock
• Exposure to toxic chemicals
• Exposure to explosives

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in an underground mining environment.
• Lift 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally.
• Work in extreme conditions, including confined spaces, varying light conditions, and exposure to high noise levels.
• Operate heavy equipment, sit for 4+ hours, and stand for 4+ hours per day.
• Perform stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and ladders as required.
• Ensure the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including footwear, hearing, and eye protection.

• Minimum of 2 years of underground electrician experience.
• High voltage experience preferred; low voltage experience required.
• Ability to stand on uneven, rocky surfaces for extended periods.
• Must comply with all site safety protocols and regulations.
