The Territory Mechanic is responsible for handling a high volume of light to medium level mechanical work at dedicated auction branch locations within a specific territory. You will be responsible for vehicle repairs in a timely manner and will serve as the eyes for leadership to make recommendations and verify our business expectations are being met by the Auction team.

- Work directly with Auction Managers and District managers: get to know branch managers and speak to them directly about repairs completed.
- Make recommendations to your supervisor for operations and process improvements.
- Manage parts ordering, reconciliation, and returns with national parts suppliers.
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles.
- Travel 50% to 75% to designated auction branches.
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer.
- Perform basic repairs to light and medium duty vehicles and bring them to a minimal running status.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
- Maintain general upkeep and maintenance of mobile service truck.
- Interact with auction managers through both email and in person as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.
- At least 5 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance, or must possess an auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school with at least 2 years of automotive mechanic experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and required automotive insurance.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, and email.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to read reports, weather forecasts, and set plans accordingly to maximize your time and success.
- Ability to place parts orders, maintain tracking, and handle refunds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.).
- Must have a robust toolset and toolbox.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles.
- Ability to work outside in various extreme temperature weather conditions.
- Mobile mechanic field experience is a plus.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
