Overview

Field Technician - Flow Monitoring & SSES — Birmingham, AL — Contract Position — $21.00 - $27.00/Hour

Support sewer system field operations by installing, operating, and maintaining flow and rainfall monitoring equipment, with regular travel and physical work in confined spaces.

• Perform fieldwork across all product lines, including flow monitoring and Sewer System Evaluation Surveys (SSES).
• Install, operate, calibrate, and maintain flow monitors and rainfall gauges

• Collect and verify sewer flow and rainfall data for accuracy.
• Conduct inspections of manholes
  , using manual and telemonitoring methods.
• Perform flow isolations
  , smoke testing
  , dye flooding
  , and site inspections
  .
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with quality procedures.
• Ensure vehicle and equipment safety and functionality.
• Follow all company safety policies and complete mandatory safety and technical training.
• Travel frequently and work overtime as needed.
• Serve as the second crew member during field assignments.

• Education: High School Diploma required.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required (due to government contract).
• Training: Completion of Level 2 Safety Certification and Core Flow Monitoring modules (or ability to complete upon hire).
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license with acceptable background check; drug-free.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and electronic troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to work outdoors and in confined spaces, including performing rescue operations
  • Physically capable of working in sewer environments and achieving daily productivity goals
• Travel: Willingness to travel and work in field conditions, including sewer systems.
