Responsibilities- Protect the principal against possible threats
- Federal building access control, employee and visitor identification checks, security equipment monitoring, roving patrols of the interior and exterior of federal property
- Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and/or incidents that may have occurred
- Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X‑ray machines
- Using provided communication devices such as two‑way radios in a clear and concise manner
- Leverage excellent listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain suitability and/or clearance
- Be a United States citizen; or a lawful permanent resident who is a member of or possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from any component of the United States Armed Forces
- Been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration
- A minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of full‑duty law enforcement experience in a full‑service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the US
- A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge
- Must be able to fluently speak, read, comprehend English and compose written reports in English
- Must be able to qualify with a revolver or semi‑automatic
- Must possess strong, relevant knowledge of the security industry
- Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a customer service‑driven mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers
- Physical ability to perform tasks in performance of assigned duties
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, indoors or outdoors
- Frequent contact with the general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center, requiring clear and calm communication in stressful situations
- Ability to remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with mental and physical readiness to react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations
- Ability to subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis
- Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, and climbing stairs
- High School Diploma/GED
- All required PSO training and certifications, including tri‑annual refresher exhibit, 16‑hour X‑ray and magnetometer training, M.E.B. training, CPR/American Red Cross certification, firearms qualification, initial weapon training, O.C. aerosol spray, handcuffing tactics and instruction, M.E.B. expandable baton, DHS letter of suitability, DHS suitability, National Weapons Detection Training Program, FPS orientation certificate
