Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Specialty

Position Summary

The TAS is a critical role in BMS’s unique customer model, executing the aspiration to be the Bio Pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio, engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue, and prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory, meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintain and grow a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Use tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate scientific expertise, using approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
  • Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discuss product-related science consistent with label.
  • Organize external speaker programs with approved speakers, facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications and engage real-time medical support when needed.
  • Collaborate proactively with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Share relevant insights internally with stakeholders to enable BMS to better serve customers.

Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales/MSL/HCP/nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
  • Strong account management skills, superior selling competencies, and a proven sales performance record.
  • Effective cross‑functional teamwork with a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills proven through performance.

Position requires operation of a company‑provided vehicle. Employment offers contingent upon meeting Qualified Driver requirements.

Compensation Overview

Field – United States – US $130,460 – $158,084
Starting compensation range is for full‑time employees. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may apply based on eligibility.
