About WBRC

WBRC 6 News, the dominant #1‑ranked Gray‑owned station in Birmingham, Alabama (Market 45), and Telemundo Alabama are seeking a Media Sales Specialist to join their energetic and professional sales team.

Job Summary

The Media Sales Specialist will lead the selling of WBRC’s media products, including on‑air and digital platforms. The role requires a detail‑oriented individual who excels in communication, customer service, and new business development. The successful candidate will exceed budget goals through both new and existing revenue streams.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a self‑starter and positively influence others in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Maintain strong communication skills, creativity, and persistence to drive sales.
  • Execute a high work ethic and uphold integrity in all activities.
  • Apply problem‑solving and organizational skills to meet sales objectives.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook proficiently.
  • Achieve a robust annual new‑business revenue target.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of B2C or B2B outside consultative sales experience (media ad sales preferred).
  • Proven prospecting and revenue pipeline building skills.
  • Critical thinking and solution‑design abilities for complex problems.
  • Capacity to manage ambiguity and adapt to unexpected change.
  • Open to continuous improvement through feedback and best‑practice sharing.
