The Club has been a Birmingham institution for more than 70 years, with its breathtaking view of the city, unique architecture, and one-of-a kind restaurants and service.
Our goal is excellence through uncompromising service to our members in a caring and respectful manner. Our team provides high level of service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our members with three full-service restaurants, bar and terrace, along with a high volume of event activity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in high volume kitchen preferred. Any combination of education training or experience, Culinary, or Apprenticeship preferred
- Extensive understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
- Able to manage time wisely and prioritize assignments to meet time restrictions of event REQUIRED
- Able to manage your time as well as staff's time
- Familiar with inventory count
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in fast paced high stress environment
- Enforcing the standards and sanitation of Serv Safe
- Able to multitask and complete culinary tasks simultaneously
- Must be a self-driven cook/chef who is looking to grow their career
- Able to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays REQUIRED

Sous Chef Responsibilities- Assist in culinary and recipe development process, and execution of plated and buffet functions
- Manage kitchen staff of 12 to 15 cooks
- Responsible for delegation of tasks in the kitchen with follow up and enforcement of staff accountability
- Responsible for training and cross training staff
- Responsible for staff placement for functions
- Manage par lists and participate in ordering process
- 3 years culinary management experience
- 5 years’ experience in high volume kitchen
- Culinary degree preferred
- Knowledge of multiple cuisine
