Food Unit Lead

Overview

We are hiring immediately for full-time FOOD UNIT LEAD positions ress: 50 Medical Park Drive E, Birmingham, AL 35235. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Full-time; days may vary (6:00 am – 2:30 pm or 10:30 am – 7:00 pm), rotating schedule with every other weekend off. More details upon interview.

Pay Range: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.

• Supervise daily operations and provide leadership to staff to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate activities of food-service employees and create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors.
• Provide quality customer service, oversee and participate in preparation and service of food and beverages per company standards (presentation, sanitation, safety, portion control).
• Assist in menu planning; ensure timely, efficient meal service; supervise serving of meals.
• Respond to customer complaints in person and via electronic channels; train employees; assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Complete required daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll, time-keeping) and maintain proper cash handling as per Food Accounting Manual.
• Order food and supplies from approved sources; oversee sanitation and safety in accordance with company standards and government regulations.
• Develop sanitation schedules and ensure adherence to cleaning of kitchen and dining areas and washing of utensils and equipment.
• Issue written and oral instructions; assist in selecting and orienting employees; oversee staff training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience supervising daily food-service operations and leading a team.
• Strong understanding of sanitation, safety, portion control, and customer service standards.
• Ability to plan menus, manage schedules, and coordinate workflow.
• Effective communication and training skills.
