RESEARCHER ASSOCIATE (T231779) Position Summary
The University of Alabama at Birmingham, General Surg Gastrointestinal Section, is seeking a dedicated Researcher Associate to join their team. This position is required to perform benchwork (post operative pain research), which includes preparing samples for pain focused study examinations and assisting the lab manager with additional specialized and scientific research in the lab. While supporting students with resources for manuscript scripts and publications.
This role will also monitor study protocols, recruitment and screening of candidates for studies and report findings and outcomes.
As a Researcher Associate, this intermediate-level position will require you to independently conduct more complex studies and analyses, contributing to the advancement of research projects. With greater autonomy, you will design experiments, interpret data, and collaborate with senior researchers to develop and refine research protocols. Your role may also include mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Duties & Responsibilities
$19.80 - $25.75
QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences- Prior work in a laboratory with performing research work, along with ability to prepare and review IRB documents is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly confidential environment with handling sensitive data, along with the ability to work well with patience.
