American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Surgical ICU position at a 595-bed hospital in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active AL or compact RN license.

• Night shift position, 18:30–07:00
• 13-week contract
• SICU/ICU-CCU unit in an acute care hospital setting
• 12-bed unit caring for neuro and surgical intensive care patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• ICU equipment in use includes ventilators, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
• EMR:
  Cerner
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 36 hours per week
• Provide intensive nursing care to neuro and surgical ICU patients, including management of ventilators, art lines, and CVLs
• Hospital is Joint Commission accredited and holds Primary Stroke Center certification and Get With the Guidelines® Gold Plus Achievement in Stroke from the American Heart Association
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs are mandatory
• All certifications must not be expired or set to expire within 30 days of the start date; proof of enrollment in a renewal class is acceptable as a placeholder

• Active AL or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA accepted only; American Red Cross is not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Neuro ICU experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial
• Candidate's SSN and DOB required for consideration
