American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro/Surgical ICU position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active AL or compact RN license.

• Night shift position, 18:30–07:00
• 13-week contract
• 12-bed ICU-CCU unit specializing in neurological and surgical intensive care
• Patient population includes neuro and surgical ICU cases
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Hands-on experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
• EMR:
  Cerner
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities

• Active AL or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued only; American Red Cross certifications are not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Neuro ICU experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Joint Commission-accredited comprehensive hospital recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, and surgical care
• Facility holds Primary Stroke Center certification and Get With the Guidelines® Gold Plus Achievement in Stroke from the American Heart Association
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs are mandatory
• All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of the assignment start date
