SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant with education, training, certification, and licensure to provide care for a specified patient population. This individual will deliver the care for patients who are technologically dependent, highly vulnerable for complications, requiring frequent or complex monitoring and/or ongoing inpatient management with acute, complex and/or chronic illnesses. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and scholarship.
This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, Lead APP, Director of Advanced Practice Providers, Department Director, staff nurses and other team members.
Essential:
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner ABON
- Basic Life Support
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care PNCB or PA-C from NCCPA
Essential:
- Masters of Science Nursing in Nursing
Essential:
- 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Critical Nursing
The Nursing Advanced Practice Providers (APP) department comprises highly trained nurse practitioners and physician assistants who provide expert, autonomous, and collaborative care throughout nearly all divisions of the health system. APPs serve a critical role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management, delivering quality healthcare by working closely with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams. Their responsibilities extend from direct patient care and health promotion to leading quality improvement initiatives and contributing to clinical education.
By integrating advanced clinical knowledge with compassionate care, the APP department enhances patient outcomes, improves access to services, and supports the health system’s commitment to delivering comprehensive, high-quality care across diverse clinical settings.
