Staff Nurse – Med Surg 9 Quarterback Unit, Main Campus Quarterback Tower
ScheduleFull-time, Evening/Night Shift – Three 12‑hour shifts per week.
SummaryThe staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments. The nurse also plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care of patients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, intervene, and reassess patient condition.
- Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate patient and caregiver care.
- Provide nursing care to pre‑operative and post‑operative pediatric patients ages birth to young adults.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- Experience in pediatric surgical nursing (preferred).
- Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
- Current BLS certification.
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non‑AL NLC Multi State
- Basic Life Support
The 9 Quarterback unit is an 18‑bed unit providing nursing care to pre‑operative and post‑operative pediatric patients ages birth to young adults. It offers exposure to a wide range of ages, developmental stages, surgical diagnoses, and procedures, providing a challenging but rewarding environment for experienced nurses and new graduates.
