RN - Registered Nurse - Highlands Hospitalist Unit (5 North) - Multiple Shifts

Join UAB Medicine as a Registered Nurse in the Highlands Hospitalist Unit (5 North) covering multiple shifts ranging from full‑time to part‑time, including weekends and flex/PRN work.

Position Overview
  • Pay range: $30.00 – $48.00 / hour
  • Shifts:

    AM and PM, weekends AM and PM, flex/PRN
  • Schedules: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.

Job Description

Utilize the nursing process to care and counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury. Employ systematic critical‑thinking to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention, and evaluation of human responses to health problems through health teaching, counseling and supportive care. Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model, delegate, coordinate, and manage all aspects of nursing care for patients, families, and the community efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team, including physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and dentists.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Bachelor's degree preferred). Work experience does not substitute for education.
  • Current RN license or eligibility to be licensed by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) with AHA; must obtain within 30 days if not already certified.
  • Depending on unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required.
