Job Description
We are seeking an experienced maintenance millwright. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as manual or laser alignment skills.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair machinery related to the unloading, loading, transfer, and storage of cargo including conveying equipment, pulleys, gearboxes, drag conveyors, structures, hydraulics, ship loader, stacker reclaimer, and various support equipment.
- Read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, build prints, and follow engineering drawings.
- Utilize precision measuring devices both metric and standard including gauges, displays, micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, alignment tools, levels, and torque tools.
- Communicate thoughts and ideas effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude in structures, leverage, metallurgy, fasteners, rotating assemblies, gears, and material strength.
- Operate hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, chain hoists, presses, metal saws, cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Utilize heavy equipment including Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and Manitowoc.
- Respond to call-outs and work all shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic principles and applications.
- Understanding and application of lubricants and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to perform machinery alignments both manual and laser.
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending technical literature and engineering drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude related to structures, metallurgy, and material strength.
- Skill in using hand tools, air tools, and precision measuring instruments.
This position is in the greater New Orleans market and requires relocation after temporarily working off of per-diem.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $67,600.00 - $87,500.00/yr.
Will consider paying per diem while someone is in the process of relocating.
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Birmingham, AL.
