Overview

Primary Function
The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.

Essential Duties

In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisition material, and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and collaborates with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments.

Examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. Monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor system using a remote-control panel, compute material needed for specific job orders, apply knowledge of product and manufacturing processes, and use an adding machine. Compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material between departments using hand or industrial truck;

may compile perpetual production records to locate material in production, using manual or computerized systems, and maintain employee records.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
  • Receive Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), kits, and other inventory property; accurately enter all property into database; perform material transfers and releases per all company processes and federal regulations.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts; verify item storage, location, quantity, etc.
  • Responsible for control and accuracy of material and records using manual and electronic inventory control systems.
  • Familiar with ITAR, FAR, DFAR regulations.
  • Oversee physical inventory annually.
  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases, follow processes, perform basic mathematical computations, and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista’s goals.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and Deltek CostPoint, with ability to learn additional software.
  • Experience working with TCMax, TMI Portal, CostPoint and Cognos preferred.
  • Previous experience conducting physical inventory counts preferred.
  • High degree of self-motivation, independent work skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and trustworthiness.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of a warehouse environment, including walking, bending, stooping, and lifting inventory items up to 50 pounds (with safety requirements).
  • Reliable and responsible with ability to work independently and be available for weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
