Overview
Fluid Solutions, LLC, an 18-year-old company operating in over 150 countries worldwide, is seeking a Pipe Fitter / Fabricator to assist with the assembly of new mechanical skid systems, primarily using Schedule 80 PVC and steel piping. This hands-on role involves layout, cutting, fitting, and assembling piping and equipment according to engineering drawings and 3D models. You’ll work closely with our production and engineering team to build high-quality systems used globally in water, fuel, and process applications.
Responsibilities- Layout, cut, and fit Schedule 80 PVC and steel piping according to shop drawings and P&IDs.
- Dry-fit and solvent-weld PVC pipe; thread, groove, or weld steel pipe as required.
- Outfit tanks with fittings, valves, level indicators, and other accessories.
- Assemble complete mechanical skids including pumps, tanks, valves, supports, and instrumentation.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and fit-up of piping and equipment assemblies using tape measures, squares, and levels.
- Install threaded, flanged, and welded connections.
- Assist with quality control testing, flushing, labeling, and documentation of completed assemblies.
- Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized fabrication area.
- Collaborate with engineering, QC, and project personnel to ensure assemblies meet design specifications.
- 2+ years of experience in pipe fitting, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.
- Strong working knowledge of Schedule 80 PVC and carbon steel piping systems, including solvent welding, threading, and flanged assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and assembly layouts.
- Experience assembling pump skids, outfitting tanks, or modular process systems preferred.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools (pipe cutters, threading machines, grinders, drills, etc.).
- Ability to measure, fabricate, and assemble accurately with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe handling of solvents and cutting tools.
- Experience with steel pipe or CPVC piping a plus.
- Familiarity with plumbing code, ANSI/HI, or industrial water treatment systems preferred.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fabrication and assembly shop environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, and material handling.
- Work performed primarily indoors in a fabrication shop environment
