Project Controls Supervisor - Located at the Energy Center in Birmingham, AL or Georgia Power Headquarters in Atlanta, GA
JOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for the oversight and coordination of Technical Shared Services (TSS) Risk Management. This includes providing direction and implementation of Project Shared Services’ policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring Risk deliverables meet and/or exceed stakeholder expectations and are provided in a timely manner to meet project / program requirements. This position will also provide strategic planning for all aspects of risk management and provide performance management for all direct reports.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk analysis, project management, and proficiency with @Risk software to aid in decision‑making and ensure the successful completion of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints. The role will lead engagement with the Project teams and will have regular interfaces with Program Leadership and Project Managers.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, business administration, or related field or minimum 7 years equivalent experience
Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMI-RMP, CRMA) is a plus.
Minimum 7 years working directly in project controls/project management/construction management on capital projects required
Minimum 3 years of experience in risk management or a related field is highly preferred
Experience supervising a team, setting priorities, managing resources, and putting strategic objectives into place preferred
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment required
Proficiency with @Risk software and a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to conduct complex data analysis and develop risk models is strongly preferred
Experience with construction and associated contract methodologies preferred
Knowledge of project costing, estimating, and scheduling techniques along with knowledge of methods and procedures
Knowledge of project management principles and experience in a project-driven industry
Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to motivate a team toward a shared goal
Ability to facilitate and manage data inputs and changes across multiple organizations
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders at all levels. Ability to effectively communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment.

Risk Development: Supervises the development of all risk deliverables and ensures Business Operations Framework principles are met. Deliverables include risk registers, risk modeling (ie - QRA analysis), short term risk identification / quantification, contingency assessments, etc.
Risk Management: Able to readily speak to how risk management integrates with Cost, Schedule, and Change elements of a Program / Project and how this allows leadership to influence outcomes, process changes ahead of occurrence and informs accurate forecasting and contingency determinations.
Risk Oversight: Responsible for all risk analysts and associated deliverables. Provides direction for project risk management processes, tools, analysis, and documentation. Maintains working knowledge of all active partnerships.
