Position: EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Overview

Position Title: Executive Administrator

Department :
Family & Community Medicine Chair Office

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Job Summary: Directs, plans, organizes, controls, negotiates, presents, monitors, and evaluates a complex variety of functions involving financial affairs, operations, research, risk management, personnel, faculty recruitment and retention, compliance, and physical facilities/space analysis in a large clinical department. Serves as the primary departmental representative to outside agencies and works closely with governmental agencies, foundations, and industry in the management of intramural and extramural programs.

Coordinates all managerial aspects of research activities with appropriate University officials, ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and research/grants administration requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees financial and operational management of the department.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with external agencies and funding organizations.
  • Ensures compliance with university, federal, and sponsor regulations in research and grant administration.
  • Directs personnel management including recruitment, training, evaluation, and corrective actions for subordinate staff.
  • Provides leadership in faculty recruitment and retention.
  • Manages departmental facilities and space planning.
Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    Bachelor s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or another closely related field.

  • Required Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible management experience in areas such as finance, research administration, healthcare administration, academic or clinical operations, personnel management, compliance, or grants/contracts administration.

  • Work experience may not substitute for the required degree.
