Join EY’s Government & Public Sector practice as a Senior Manager in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) – State, Local & Education (SLED) service line.
About the RoleFrom strategy to execution, EY’s GPS FAAS team delivers consulting and audit services to state, local, and education clients. As a Senior Manager, you will lead complex engagements, drive business development, and build cross‑service line relationships to provide innovative solutions.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Engage with SLED clients to understand their business and deliver customized advisory services.
- Lead, support, and train audit and assurance teams throughout engagement lifecycle.
- Develop and manage proposals, business development strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate across multiple service lines to identify client opportunities and provide integrated solutions.
- Travel regularly to meet with clients and deliver engagements.
- Strong client‑relationship management and consultative skills.
- Expertise in governmental accounting (GASB), budgeting, and audit principles.
- Experience in financial reporting advisory and audit engagements with SLED entities.
- Excellent project management, mentoring, and performance feedback abilities.
- Proficiency in technology tools for knowledge sharing and service delivery.
- U.S. CPA license and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher.
- 10+ years post‑college experience in financial audit and reporting advisory for SLED clients.
- In‑depth knowledge of US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, and Single Audit requirements.
- Familiarity with ACFR, annual financial statements, and Single Audit Report preparation.
- Hands‑on experience with business development, deal governance, and proposal submission.
- Proven track record managing high‑performing teams and driving results.
- Ability to travel up to 30% for federal practice or 80% for state/local practice.
- Competitive base salary: $146,700–$335,100 U.S. (Higher ranges for NYC, Washington and California).
