The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a BUSINESS OFFICE II to serve in the capacity of business manager, relieves department head/large division director or dean of administrative detail with responsibility for financial management/budget, personnel policy administration, space and facilities planning, grants administration, policy interpretation and enforcement. Conducts special projects, analyzes data and compiles reports regarding budgets, personnel and space utilization.
Interacts with University administrative units and assures the integrity of department/division/school administrative and financial operations. Manages staff and handles strategic planning. Serves as financial/budget/grants management officer for assigned unit. May interact with administrators and assist with interdepartmental collaborations. May handle compliance related issues.
(Annual Salary: $63,875 - $103,800)
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
The ideal candidate must be very organized, proactive and flexible in order to adapt to a changing academic and clinical environment. The candidate must have good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Supervisory and managerial skills are essential in the position as well. Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office. Institutional knowledge of UAB Oracle HR and Finance, People Amin, Kronos, Taleo, IRAP, Axiom, and familiar with clinical reports.
The ideal candidate must also have a solid foundation in human resources and fiscal affairs in an academic setting is preferred. Must be able to multitask, maintain confidentiality and work at a fast pace in a department with multiple divisions and numerous faculty, staff, residents and students.
