Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance, Maintenance Manager, Industrial Maintenance
Under the Supervision of the Plant Manager/Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring an efficient maintenance department, equipment reliability, continuous improvement of equipment, maintenance systems and maintenance associates training and programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assigns work to Maintenance Associates, including but not limited to, work orders and Proactive Maintenance (PM). Works closely with Maintenance Associates to identify and get the resources needed to complete the work. Follows up with corrective actions audit results, ideas, etc.
- Purchases and maintains the inventory of parts, supplies, tools or equipment needed to perform maintenance.
- Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment, included but not limited to, improving inventory stocks, identifying critical spare parts, equipment breakdown investigation, corrective action implementation, etc. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a "repair before it breaks" mentality.
- Prevents reoccurring breakdowns by taking a "Fix it once and for all" mentality.
- Prioritizes, schedules and coordinates work to be performed on equipment. Ensures work is completed safely, efficiently and effectively following the Avient standards. Maintains the E-Maintenance system. Use these systems as the main communication tool for maintenance purposes. Makes sure due dates are being met.
- Documents work completed such as work orders, PM records, equipment information/history, electronic files, etc. for easy retrieval by other coworkers.
- Responsible for the maintenance training program, including but not limited to, implementation, on going training, improvement and record keeping.
- Establishes Maintenance Associates' accountability, including but not limited to, training issues, output reasons, input as to overall performance reviews, etc.
- Responsible for implementation of a Proactive Maintenance program for all plant equipment.
- Enforces, maintains and implements Standardization of parts and equipment.
- Responsible for all activities in the Maintenance Shop.
- Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
- Position follows, implements, and trains others on applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing any procedure work. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Any other projects or duties assigned by management.
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance and facilities technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance tasks with key stakeholders to meet schedule needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues, including:
Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems. - Utilize and manage CMMS for work order creation, tracking, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, safety requirements, and inventory.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Work within budget to control costs under direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Work with Management to identify and replace obsolete spare parts.
- Coordinate repair efforts with onsite machine and fabrication shop.
- Previous experience managing extensive PM & PdM program.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
