We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our litigation team in our Birmingham headquarters. This attorney will manage a diverse caseload, including trucking litigation, premises liability, construction matters, and occasional federal False Claims Act cases. Candidates should have at least 2 years of litigation experience and civil experience is ideal. Trial experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of general liability, premises liability, and transportation files.
  • Draft discovery, motions, and other legal documents; conduct document review and case triage.
  • Participate in depositions and motion practice early in your tenure.
  • Engage in trial preparation, with opportunities to attend trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to building a strong team culture.
  • Take ownership of files and follow established processes and training protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of litigation experience, with civil experience strongly preferred.
    • Criminal experience considered for trial exposure.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and thrive under pressure.
  • Confidence to handle depositions and mediations independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to team success.
  • Self-starter with effective time management skills.
