The Northern District of Alabama is hiring three attorneys for permanent Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) positions in our Criminal Division. The Northern District of Alabama is a large US Attorney's Office headquartered in Birmingham, with a branch office in Huntsville. Two of these vacancies will be filled in the Birmingham office, and one additional position may be located in either Birmingham or Huntsville.
As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement.
Successful applicants will be able to work equally well individually and in a team setting and will possess the judgment, skill, and fearlessness necessary to succeed as part of a fast-paced and aggressive prosecution team.
The ideal candidate will be someone with prior criminal litigative experience with a desire for public service and living in the Northern District of Alabama.
Required QualificationsApplicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1 year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
United States citizenship is required.
