Systems Engineer
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 3 year W2 Contract
Responsibilities- Provide infrastructure management product maintenance, configuration customizations, and product integrations.
- Support process and procedure automation to maximize monitoring and management of infrastructure.
- Evaluate new requests, support lifecycle management, and assist with upgrades and patching.
- Design and deliver solutions for monitoring and management systems.
- Support for new and modified monitoring rules and policies.
- Create and maintain product documentation.
- Perform data investigation and ad hoc queries.
- Provide technical leadership in service monitoring and operations management modernization.
- Support 24/7 on-call activities.
- Experience in event management, coding monitoring rules, event correlation, discovery, topologies, stitching, event‑driven automation, and root cause analysis in a large enterprise.
- Administrating and supporting an enterprise monitoring platform (3+ years).
- Knowledge of SNMP, Microservices, PHP programming, Elastic, and Open Search (3+ years).
- Experience with HTML, CSS, SQL, Kubernetes or Docker.
- Shell scripting in Perl and Python (3+ years).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages Python, Ansible, UNIX/Linux shell scripting, and JSON preferred.
- Familiarity with database systems MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, or DB2.
- Experience with network, computing, storage, and application management standards and conventions such as SNMP, TL1, FCAPS, ITIL, SMI‑S, TMN, and ISO 20000 preferred.
- Effective communication skills across management, vendors, and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years experience.
- Professional certificates such as ITIL Foundations or Manager Certification preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as Oracle Communications Unified Assurance, Microsoft SCOM, Micro Focus Site Scope, Infoblox DDI, Cisco PRIME, Nokia NSP, or similar.
- Ability to lead change and influence at all levels.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $60.00 to $75.00. Benefits available to full‑time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
