Payroll Specialist

Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team ONSITE in Birmingham, Alabama on a 12 week contract. This is a contract position where you will oversee essential payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in processing high-volume payroll. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience and a detail-oriented approach to this critical role.

Responsibilities:

- Process bi-weekly payroll for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

- Manage payroll data, including gathering information for bonuses and adjustments.

- Utilize payroll software such as Dayforce Ceridian to streamline and execute payroll processes.

- Conduct audits to maintain the accuracy of payroll records and resolve discrepancies.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth payroll operations and assist with training where necessary.

- Apply advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, to analyze and validate payroll data.

- Handle multi-state payroll processes while adhering to federal and state regulations.

- Support the payroll team by providing insights and improving workflows to enhance efficiency.

- Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data at all times.

- Assist with onboarding and transitioning new team members into payroll processes.

Requirements - Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with high-volume payrolls.

- Familiarity with payroll software, such as Dayforce Ceridian, is highly desirable.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUP functions.

- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance requirements.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information securely.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide training support.

- Experience in full-cycle payroll for over 500 employees is preferred.

- Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in a casual work environment.
