Pharmacy Technician - Patient Accounts Representative Certified Lead

Position Overview

Pay range: $16.00 - $26.00 / hour

Shift: full-time AM

Schedule: 8 a.m.

-5 p.m.

Under minimal supervision, lead employees in assigned work area. To assign daily tasks and project work. To balance workload across daily staff, adjusting for attendance and workload. To monitor progress throughout shift and adjusts workload as needed. To lead special projects. To perform duties related to the processing of patient and third party payor payments. To prepare and submit vendor payments and patient refund requisitions.

To work closely with Patient Financial Services to reconcile patient and third party payor account issues.

• Assisting with training of new hires in PCC workflow
• Providing support and assistance to multiple PCCs
• Performing daily PCC activities including:
• Serving as a Liaison between the patient, the clinic pharmacist, and the retail pharmacy
• Performing benefits investigation
• Collaboration with our clinic pharmacists to obtain prior authorizations
• Assisting patients with the enrollment and utilization of financial assistance programs
• Processing prescription orders and Third‑Party Payer claims
• Performing longitudinal patient follow‑up along with all necessary documentation for Accreditations
• Delivering excellent customer service

High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) year of related experience required. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire. Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other nationally recognized and accredited certification program requiring examination.
