Mental Health Associate – 2nd Shift (1 pm‑9 pm)
Location: Birmingham, AL
Employment type: Full‑time; 2nd shift with rotating weekend shifts (12 hr weekend shift 9 am‑9:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays). Sign‑on bonus: $3,000.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders and ensure their safety and well‑being.
- Utilize a therapeutic approach during all tasks, including assistance with daily activities, facilitation of group activities, and other duties assigned by the Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader, or Shift Supervisor.
- Safely monitor residents, perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention when required.
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of resident progress and incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or a related mental‑health field (preferred but not required).
- Must be 19 years or older; successful drug screen and comprehensive background check (criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work safely in a residential mental/behavioral‑health setting.
- Experience in a residential mental/behavioral‑health setting is strongly preferred.
