UAB Medicine — Patient Flow Center – Behavioral Health Technician (PM shift)

Position Overview

Pay range: $15.00 – $19.50 per hour.

Shifts:

Full‑time, PM.

Schedule:

7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Job Description

Provide direct patient care and behavioral health support across hospital units. Integrate clinical observation, therapeutic engagement, and crisis response to promote patient safety, de‑escalation, and recovery. Work closely with nursing staff, CRT companions, and interdisciplinary providers to create a safe, supportive environment for patients with behavioral health needs.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma or equivalent required. CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Minimum 2 years experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, or patient care OR completion of an in‑house CRT/PCT training program. Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) or Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) preferred.
