• Ensures compliance with system, hospital/facility policies and procedures, and governmental/accreditation regulations.
• Actively participates with the UAB system medical staff and hospital leadership in the development of hospital wide strategic and operations plans, programs, policies/procedures, and performance standards.
• Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
• Aligns goals, objectives, and action plan for assigned departments and programs with the overall system and hospital strategic and operational plans.
• Monitors department/program performance in patient care, patient safety, patient/employee satisfaction, performance improvement, operational excellence, employee engagement, recruitment and retention, staff development, and interdepartmental relationships.
• Develops budgets for assigned departments; monitors and adjusts objectives to meet budget requirements.
• Evaluates and reacts to shifting legal, regulatory/accrediting priorities, and ensures compliance.
• Participates in the negotiation of contracts and tracks compliance and evaluates performance.
• Serves as a liaison in the development of community partnerships and business development opportunities with UAB Medicine and the broader community. Attends meetings of professional, civic, and service organizations as a representative of UAB St. Vincent’s.
• Represents the entity in the absence of the CEO as requested. Serves as Executive lead or member on assigned committees and takes rotation as Administrator on‑call.
• Develops and cultivates medical staff relationships to explore new business growth opportunities.
• Participates in the orientation of employees to the UAB Medicine and UAB St. Vincent’s mission, vision, and values.
• Displays commitment to teamwork through open honest communication and a unity of purpose.
• Directs and supervises subordinate management and leadership team members along with administrative support personnel. Interviews, hires, develops, counsels, directs, and disciplines subordinate personnel in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Effectively responds to unique needs of patients as they arise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health‑care, Administration, or Business.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in acute care, specialty care, and/or ambulatory services management.
