Overview

The Group Home Manager oversees the daily operations of assigned group homes, ensuring the health, safety, and development of individuals served. This role includes supervising staff, implementing person-centered support plans, managing schedules, and maintaining the home environment. The manager also facilitates community outings and ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of assigned group homes, ensuring overall health, safety, and development.
  • Create meaningful relationships with individuals served and implement person-centered support plans.
  • Develop and implement individual service plans in collaboration with the team.
  • Supervise all functions of the group home, including staff and residents.
  • Schedule staff shifts and approve earned time, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Schedule and participate in various community outings with residents.
  • Maintain group home facilities and perform necessary administrative tasks.
  • Transport individuals served to appointments and community activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Bachelor s degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be flexible with hours and available on-call daily for assigned homes.
  • Reliable transportation, valid Alabama driver s license, and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Leadership and team supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage home operations and ensure compliance.
  • Compassionate and person-centered approach.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent lifting, standing, walking, driving, pulling, restraining, and walking up and down stairs.
  • Ability to perform outdoor physical activities.
