The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Epidemiological Analyst to support public health programs through data-driven analysis and disease surveillance. This role is responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing epidemiological data to evaluate the effectiveness of public health strategies, programs, and interventions across Jefferson County.

Epidemiological Analysts coordinate data collection and abstraction for a variety of health-related and disease surveillance initiatives and translate findings into actionable insights. The position requires applying advanced knowledge of epidemiology, statistics, and public health principles to develop recommendations that support prevention, intervention, and community health improvement efforts. Work is performed in accordance with professional and ethical public health standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position

  • Master s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology.
  • Experience using a statistical software package, such as SAS, SQL, SPSS or R, to analyze data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are job-related qualifications deemed desirable by the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH). These qualifications may be considered by JCDH when reviewing applications and inviting candidates to participate in subsequent steps in the selection processes.

  • Driver s license.
  • Experience working with and/or facilitating a diverse group of individuals and authority.
  • Post college experience in multi-modal method of data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in community strategic planning initiatives.
  • Experience conducting evidence-based research.
  • Experience with disease surveillance/investigation.
  • Experience with GIS Mapping programs.
