Laboratory Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.

The role involves performing routine microbiological assays and testing, ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements, and conducting laboratory activities safely.

• Perform microbiological assays and testing including turbidimetric, chromogenic, and gel clot methods for bacterial endotoxins detection.
• Conduct microbial limits tests and sterility tests, and perform sample shipments to contract testing laboratories.
• Document test results and conclusions in a GMP manner and ensure test forms are complete before submission for approval.
• Develop and execute protocols and standard operating procedures for microbiology equipment and test methods.
• Provide guidance and training to laboratory personnel on instrument operation and test methods.

• One year professional experience in laboratory testing (not including college labs)
• Pharmaceutical experience

• Sound understanding of microbiological testing methods and instrumentation.
• Ability to perform bioburden swab testing and endotoxin challenge vial testing.
• Experience with data entry in Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot instruments and ensure they are in a GMP/validated/calibrated state before use.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
