PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE (FULL TIME)
We are hiring immediately for full‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE positions at Grandview Medical Center, 3960 Grandview Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35243. Online applications only.
Full‑time schedule; days and hours may vary. Must be able to work every other weekend.
Pay Range: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
Job SummaryPatient Dining Associates support the caregiving team by helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays. They ensure meals are accurate, delivered on time, and at correct temperature.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Help patients understand menu selections and collaborate with nursing to ensure compliance with nutritional requirements.
- Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and timely; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, JCAHO, and HIPAA policies.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
- Adhere to facility and department infection control policies.
- Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on liquid diets, specific calorie counts, or unable to eat orally.
- Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
- Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret English documents.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver push food delivery carts.
