3 12‑hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM - Work Location:
UAB St. Vincent's East - Department:

- Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
- Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing; interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
- Perform and document testing. Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient‑specific needs; score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies.
- Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT) with a certificate from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or Registered Sleep Technologist with the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate’s degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job‑specific experience.
