Job Description:

• Provide psychosocial support to individuals, families, and groups coping with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses.
• Advise family caregivers, educate patients, provide counseling, and make referrals for additional services.
• Provide case management and interventions to promote health, prevent disease, and address barriers to healthcare access.
• Facilitate the discharge planning process and identify community resources for patients and families.
• Act as a clinical resource to social service students and the community.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work (required).
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credential by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners (required).
• For units/departments outside UAB Hospital, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA (required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
• For UAB Hospital positions, completion of the First Five Rapid Response Basics online training within 30 days of hire, maintained annually.
