Job Details

• Must meet Medicare Conditions of Participation for Home Health Aide training program and competency.
• Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
• Ability to carry out directions, read and write.
• Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

• Understand and adhere to agency policies and procedures.
• Perform personal care, bath, and hands‑on care as assigned.
• Complete appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per agency policy.
• Report changes in the patient’s condition and needs to the RN.
• Perform household services essential to health care in the home as assigned.
• Ambulate and exercise the patient as assigned.
• Perform simple procedures such as ROM exercises.
• Assist with medications that are ordinarily self‑administered.
• Attend in‑service and continuing education programs as scheduled.
• Attend patient care conferences as scheduled.

Works indoors in agency office and patient homes, traveling to/from patient homes.

High risk.

• Ability to participate in physical activity.
• Ability to work for an extended period of time while standing.
• Heavy lifting.
• Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.
